The POWERFAN safely controls a person’s rapid descent while ensuring a gentle landing, dissipating their potential energy by the means of a fan. The fan is driven only by the descending rider’s mass and does not require an external power source. The POWERFAN is designed for use in either a recreational or developmental environment, under the supervision of a competent operator.
Each POWERFAN incorporates an integral rewind mechanism to ensure a fast and efficient recall, and the machine is so efficient that a throughput of one person per minute is feasible. Each unit also includes a counter to regulate servicing and maintenance schedules.
The POWERFAN has been designed to conform to the relevant parts of BS: EN: 341 for rescue devices and prEN: 15567 for ropes courses. POWERFAN is also being examined by the TÜV for independent approval, and is working towards ISO 9000 certification.
There are currently three models of POWERFAN available. The PF13 is designed for descents up to 42 feet (13 meters), the PF20 is for descents up to 65 feet (20 meters), and the PF30 is for descents up to 98 feet (30 meters). Custom lengths are available over 100′.
